Ecclesiastes 3:1

To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1

It has been a while again....I need to be more like the blogger's who post once a day or at least a couple of times a week.

My husband just celebrated his 46th birthday this week as well as our 13th wedding anniversary. He is a blessing and a gift . He has put up with me for over 17 years.... He has a lot of patience. Got to love a man who has patience.  I knew this all along but have come to have a great appreciation for what he has put up with from me.  Nothing bad , just the stress and frustrations of life can make a woman crazy.  He is an amazing father as well.  The kids adore their father.  I just love him.

(I obviously need to upload some new pictures because I keep posting the same ones.  There are not that many with the two of us.)

I have been on a roller coaster lately.....My only child is about to compelte 5th grade and move onto junior high....cry....sigh....cry.....  I know it will be great and amazing.  He is so smart and will adjust fine.  I just want to turn back time and have him as a little kindergartener , again!

From this precious little one...

to this handsome little man.....

to this handsome young man.....in a blink of the eye.

this is not the most recent picture but it is the only one that I could upload that was not sideways..

He is a gift and a blessing...  I thank God, often, that he is healthy, smart, and mine..
I am so very grateful for such a special young man.

I am a sporadic blogger.  I love to read other blogs and look forward to what they have in store for me each day.  You would think I would draw from that inspiration and make it happen.  Someday.................

My little man is going to turn 11 on Tuesday!  I want to cry.  He is so independent and smart.  It makes me sad and proud at the same time.  He is so handsome and has such a wonderful personality.

This is Ella.  She is a mix of Rat Terrier and Chihuahua.  She is one of the best dogs we have ever had.  We had pure breeds before who have cost us lots of money.  Luke and Ella are best friends!

I have had a love affair with Almond Butter for the past year or two.  The best kind I have discovered is the fresh ground (you can grind it yourself) at HEB.  I tried the jarred almond butters and they have additives.  I just want plain almonds.  I eat it with celery sticks for a snack at work and it is just perfect.

I have Spring Fever!!!  I love these milder temps we are having and it makes me want to go camping and just be outside.

We have had a great start to the summer.  We got to see Dierks Bently in concert this past weekend.  He was amazing!!   He has beautiful eyes.......

anyway.....big week this week!  Big Brother starts a new season tomorrow night.  http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother

we are reality tv junkies at my house.  we live for Duck Dynasty and Real Housewives and the list goes on and on.

This is a pic from last year but my little man is in Vacation Safety school at the local police department this week.  It is a great summer camp thing.  It is for a few hours a day but they learn all kinds of great thing including:

fire safety
stranger danger
vacation safety
bicycle safety

He learned so many great things last year and he is enjoying it this year.  I figure if he gets that kind of stuff repeated to him, it will stick and hopefully he will know how to handle a situation when it arises.

It has been a long week and its only Tuesday!  We are working 4 - 10 hour days at work during the summer and they are kicking my butt.  I am tired......not to mention, I partied with Dierks Bently this weekend..... ;0

Summer Time!

It has been a while.....I always feel as though what I have to share may not be newsworthy, but I am wrong!  I follow a lot of blogs and they can be simple, inspiring, educational, or just silly.

School is almost out for my 10 year old!  Their last day is Thursday. I cannot believe he will be in 5th grade next year. Time flies.  This is a picture I snapped at Cherry Berry (our favorite yogurt shop, that is no longer there) after I picked him up on his first day of school back in August. I will snap one on his last day of school and we can see if he has changed any.

We are looking forward to a busy summer. We hope to cram a lot in to the small time frame. We definitely plan on camping, fishing, going to the beach, and just plain relaxing!  I know lots will come up between those trips to keep us busy.

This picture was taken a couple of years ago but I love it!  It is rare we are all in the picture.

God bless!

REFLECTION

My son, Luke, is about to turn 9. I want to cry at the thought of him getting older. I just want him to remain my little boy. He is a blessing! He is funny, witty, smart, rambunctious, energetic, and loving. I cannot wait to see him after work. He always has stories to tell me about his day. Whether they be about a classmate or his teacher. He is a hoot!

I remember the days when he was a toddler and all the funny things he did. He would look in the pantry and say "what do my want?" Like he had all that food to choose from and he was big enought to decide what he would pick. He would watch the original Shrek movie and just cackle at Donkey, before he could even talk.

The picture above is one of my favorites. He is about 2 years old there. It is not the best quality picture but I love it!

This time of year really makes me reflect on how precious time truly is. We all say how time flies. I don't want to dwell on the speed of it. I want to take advantage of it. I want to make his life the best it can be and give him every opportunity to do what he enjoys. He wants to play football, let him play, he is only this age once and I want him to enjoy it and experience new things.
